ハンブルグ駅現代美術館　サイ・トゥオンブリー　 Cy Twombly st Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart


ヨーゼフ・ボイスと並んで、今回の旅でその作品を数多く見てみたかったのが、サイ・トゥオンブリーだった。

トゥオンブリーはアメリカ生まれ。イタリアの貴族の娘と結婚して1957年からはローマに移ったが、ドイツとはあまり縁を感じないが、なぜかドイツにはトゥオンブリーの作品が数多くある。

このハンブルグ駅現代美術館でも、その作品を見ることができた。

Alongside Joseph Beuys, I wanted to see a lot of this work on this trip, Cy Twombly.

Twombly was born in the United States. He married a daughter of an Italian aristocrat and moved to Rome in 1957, but although he doesn't feel much about Germany, there are many Twombly works in Germany for some reason.

I was able to see the work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Hamburg Station.


School of Fontainebleauという作品。

フォンテーヌブロー派は、16世期にフランスのフランシス1世に招かれたイタリアの画家ロッソ・フィオレンティーノなどの画家たちによって形成されたグループ。

この絵が描かれた1960年以降、トゥオンブリーはイタリアでの生活の影響もあってか、絵画のテーマにヨーロッパの古典的なものが増えていくようになった。

トゥオンブリーの作品には、文字がそのまま書かれている作品が多い。

トゥオンブリーは、1953年にアメリカ陸軍で暗号を制作する仕事行っていた。そのために、文字に対する特別な思い入れがあるのかもしれない。

その作品自体が、暗号のようなモノなのかも知れない。

Many of the works of Twombly are written as they are.

Empire of Floraという作品。ニコラ・プッサンの同名の絵画を意識した作品。

ネットでそのプッサンの作品を見てみたが、はっきり言って、どこをどう参照しているのか、よくはわからない。

トゥオンブリーの作品にしては、鮮やかな色が多く使われているので、フローラという雰囲気は感じられる。

For Twombly's work, many vivid colors are used, so you can feel the atmosphere of flora.
